Full-Time Tutor

London

Student: Aged 13

About the Family and Role

A distinguished London family with a child attending one of the capital’s leading day schools is seeking an accomplished full-time private tutor to provide comprehensive academic support across a range of secondary school subjects. The student, aged thirteen, is bright, capable and ambitious and the family wishes to ensure that he receives the depth, consistency and intellectual stretch required to thrive within a highly competitive academic environment.

This is a role for a tutor who understands the pressure and pace of top-tier London schooling and who can bring clarity, calmness and structure to the student’s daily routine. The family wants a tutor who will not only reinforce school-based learning but also extend it by building confidence, curiosity and long-term academic resilience. The tutor will work closely with the child to support homework, exam preparation, organisation and broader academic development, ensuring that each subject is approached with enthusiasm and precision.

Tutor Profile
The ideal candidate will have graduated from a leading UK university with a strong academic record and will bring experience teaching or tutoring across multiple secondary school subjects, particularly English, Maths, the Sciences and Humanities at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level. You should be articulate, patient and highly organised, with an intuitive understanding of how to motivate and steady students who are navigating demanding school environments.

Candidates must demonstrate impeccable professional standards, discretion and the ability to work in a refined private household with grace and confidence. A warm yet authoritative teaching manner is essential and someone who can inspire and who can support as both a mentor and a steady academic anchor.

Responsibilities
Your work will include daily academic sessions after school, weekend consolidation and structured planning around exams and assignment deadlines. You will help the student develop strong study habits, organisation skills, revision strategies and subject mastery across the curriculum. The role also involves regular communication with parents, clear reporting on progress and proactive preparation ahead of school requirements.

The family values reliability, calmness under pressure and a genuine love of helping young people flourish. While the student is already enrolled in an exceptional school, this role exists to give him the additional support, guidance and intellectual enrichment necessary to ensure he achieves his full potential.

Hours, Salary & Accommodation
This is a full-time role, typically structured around afternoons, early evenings and weekends during term time, with more flexible hours during school holidays. The salary is between £120,000 and £150,000 per year depending on experience. The position is live-out, with occasional travel during holidays as required, fully covered by the family.
